“Nigeria on My Mind. Again.” was an exhibition at the Harrison Center, Indianapolis, in February 2018, of more than 90 images illustrating John Sherman’s decades-long relationship with Nigeria. It was underwritten, in part, by a generous grant from the Efroymson Family Fund. View the exhibition here, narrated by John.

The premiere performance of the opera Biafra. This 20-minute performance is a portion of Act II, Scene II of the artistic work that illustrates the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War (1967-1970). Score by Nathaniel Blume and libretto by John Sherman. The opera is based, in part, on Sherman's experiences working with the Red Cross during the war.
